The reason that I chose this photo is because of the impact on our community of losing a forest service officer. In October I posted a series of photos from the memorial.

The shot you chose has wonderful deep colors, great composition, and emotional appeal. My uncle was given such a firefighter's honor when he passed away, and it's such a moving thing to see an image of.
Wishing you the very best health, happiness, and photo ops in 2009, and I hope we can get together with some of the other area bloggers for a picnic this summer.
