Farewell Port Angeles, it's been swell. Due to a job situation I am moving away from the area, the blog will stay up as an archive.

You are right? What would PA be without Swain's? It can never replace any big box store, in my opinion! They have everything and more !! Great picture of an icon !!!

Neat photo--thanks!
Remember Cliff and Bea Swain as neighbors in the early 1950s--they lived behind us at Lopez and Lincoln. They then moved to the spit and lived in an old land barge and ran the boat docks.

Swain's must be a drive-in or drive-by restaurant...and a city landmark. If I ever get to your city, I'll be sure to stop by.

Interesting photograph!

Swain's is an old fashioned country store/ home improvement/ clothing/ etc. It's a landmark in Port Angeles, having been here over 50 years. Thanks Norm for the personal story, a neighbor of the Swains!

I used to walk down to swains every second I had. Free popcorn! I bought a coat from Layaway there. I miss Swains.....

I always end up going to Wal Mart...Swains is always out of stock and/or very little variety.
